The Caminho da Fe

The Mission

On January 3rd, 2022, we are heading to Brazil to run The Caminho da Fe or “Trail of Faith”. This trail was inspired by the Camino de Santiago de Compostela (Spain) where pilgrims go on a religious passage from church to church while stamping their passports ultimately being awarded an official pilgrims certificate at The Basilica of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Aparecida. The route covers 970 km of which approximately 500 km cross the Serra da Mantiqueira mountain range through side roads, trails and woods.

Amy and I have run different branches of this trail on 3 occasions and this year’s journey will be the only one we have not done - Franca to Aparecida. Alan has been on all of our missions and we are privileged that he will be joining us this year as our crew chief with his friend Caique. John will be running his first Brazil 135 Ultramarathon in the middle. We are excited to get back to the trail and the magic of The Caminho.
