Weekend of “lasts”

I feel like I’m about to go to mars, the moon, sail across the Atlantic or run across the country because it feels like I’m doing a bunch of things for the “last” time for awhile. Did my last bike yesterday, last run today, last hello/goodbye to my friends at Publix - our local supermarket, last smiles to all the folks in my neighborhood who see Lucky and I every day running around, last week at home and the knot in my stomach that it will soon be my last day at home w Monica and our family - 4 dogs. Crew chief Alex is excited about getting it on and I am at peace with the knowledge that everything i have done in my life has gotten me prepared for what is about to happen and i am ready. Tomorrow Alex takes the RV to his place to pack up his life. He comes back and then Sunday we make final preparations for Monday morning launch. Lucky is on to something big happening, he is waiting at the door for the RV to open so he can jump in. Concurrent to all of this is my sister Lisa and husband Mike who flew in from NY - Mike hasn’t seen his father in 3 years and he lives in Palm Coast; they made a pitstop at our place last night and they will return on Sunday. Anytime Lisa and Monica get together it is fireworks…not ideal for day prior to launch but then again, it will be a perfect pre launch celebration!
