Pre-Relaunch Update #3 - Friday, May 24th
I have learned in my life that if I am patient with even a small belief, there will come a time when the stars align and in that brief instant, it is time to strike or lose the opportunity. That moment is here. I am so happy to introduce Chris Genoversa as my new adventure partner. Chris is a fellow New Yorker who was introduced to me by Lisa. Chef by profession, and affected by COVID directly, he was looking for a shift in perspective. Our connection on this journey was mutually perfect on many levels. We both love food and can’t wait to see what the country serves up. So much so that we have added a Food Blog to the site to focus on the local cuisine we encounter. We are also dealing with life challenges - Chris recently lost his mother to COVID. And on my end, two of the primary drivers for this adventure - my 104 year old grandmother and Lucky are fighting their own challenges. So we will be venturing out in the next few weeks to wrestle our emotions heading west together.
On the RV side, we are still waiting on parts - the awning and compartment door for the water hook up is delayed. All RV parts nationwide are backed up with the COVID surge. I am looking into contingency plan that might ship the parts forward to another city where we can address on the road. Fingers crossed on this as its out of my control….like so many things on this trip!
I am hoping Lucky’s Monday chemo will go well as that is the other big item in our critical path checklist.
May the force be with us,
David.
